PSYCH 345 Organizational Diagnosis and Development 3 unit(s) This course examines organizations as complex, adaptive systems and prepares students to diagnose, design, and improve organizational structures, strategies, and processes at the enterprise level. Students study how formal design elements-structure, governance, workflow, and resource alignment-interact with informal networks to shape organizational performance and adaptability. Emphasis is placed on organizational diagnosis methods, including system mapping, climate and culture analysis, and data-informed evaluation of organizational functioning. Students analyze models of large-scale change, organizational redesign, and transformation initiatives aimed at improving alignment, resilience, and strategic effectiveness. Using behavioral science principles, students identify leverage points for systemic improvement and design organization-level development strategies.
