Marketing, Global MS (Online in Chinese)

Program Information


Golden Gate University designed an accelerated graduate program that is dedicated to working professionals residing in China. Using a 7.5-week term format, this program is offered online in Chinese (Mandarin) through our partner, Beacon Education. Note: This program is available only to students who enroll via the Beacon Education platform.

Aligned to GGU’s leadership and service mission, the Global Master of Science in Marketing (GMSM) is a rigorous, language accessible, fast-paced 27-unit degree focusing on providing tactical and strategic leadership and service skills necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving global management, marketing, and strategy ecosystem and its issues. Offered in an accelerated delivery GMSM students take key courses that focus on global issues impacting organizations, markets, leadership, and service. Building on existing GGU marketing courses, the GMSM program is designed for the global marketplace. To be inclusive and accessible to the cross-cultural and inter-cultural marketplace, the curriculum is delivered in online and language accessible format.

This GGU Worldwide’s Global Master of Science in Marketing provides a rapid course of study for students seeking advanced knowledge and skills in marketing to build upon their careers in marketing or enhancing other career disciplines such as Leadership, Management, Project Management or Data Analytics. Understanding and utilizing the strategic role marketing plays within an organization and the global economy is central to every executive or management decision in business today. Students completing the GMSM will have a foundation in marketing management, and be able to devise successful strategic plans through knowledge of more nuanced marketing skills and concepts.

Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this program will have the knowledge and skills to:

  • Understand the place and contribution of marketing to the business enterprise, locally and globally.
  • Describe major bases for segmenting consumer and business markets.
  • Describe the major types of consumer buying behavior, the stages in the buyer decision process and completely outline the components of the marketing mix.
  • Identify the roles of advertising, sales promotion, public relations, personal selling and direct marketing in the promotion mix; compare and contrast integrated marketing communications with a non-integrated approach to the promotional mix.

Admission Requirements

  • Unofficial transcripts from all previously attended institutions (official transcripts will be required after admission).
  • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree.
    • Successful completion of 3‐year undergraduate study degree (大专文凭) will be accepted, but applicants are required to provide a resume demonstrating at least three years of work experience.
  • 2.5 GPA for full admission.
  • If below 2.5 GPA, applicants will be required to provide:
    • Resume
    • Statement of purpose that will be reviewed by Beacon team, or an interview conducted by Beacon admissions representative to determine the eligibility of the students.
      • The statement of purpose or interview must include the following:
      1. Their professional journey after school (minimum 3 years of work experience).
      2. How this degree would help them in their professional career.
      • The statement of purpose or interview report will be reviewed for approval by GGU Faculty Director/Dean.

Requirements for the Global Master of Science in Marketing


The degree program requires completion of a total of 27 units. Students must earn a grade of “C-” or better in each course and cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or better.
