PSYCH 121 Abnormal Psychology 3 unit(s) This course examines the origins, symptoms, and treatments of behavioral and personality disturbances from childhood through senescence in the context and application of the current DSM-V. This course covers a broad survey of mental health problems including: anxiety disorders, depression, addictive disorders, psychosis, eating disorders, and personality disorders. Students will develop critical thinking skills as applied to theories, assessment, and treatments relevant for each disorder. Students will also be encouraged to consider the role of stigma in mental illness. Corequisite(s): PSYCH 10
