OLHS 110 Emotional and Social Intelligence at Work 3 unit(s) This course develops the student’s understanding of the primary and secondary components of emotional and social intelligence and how they are applied in the workplace and in the context of professional relationships. Students explore the research behind emotional and social intelligence and the value and importance placed on exercising workplace emotional and social intelligence within and beyond organizational settings. Students identify their own levels of emotional and social intelligence and how they can further develop and apply both in a variety of business and non-business contexts. Specific applications are made to workplace relationships, communication, team collaboration, diversity, managing conflict, and leadership.
