MGT 361 Coaching: Interpersonal Skills and Practices 3 unit(s) Explores the growing field of business, organizational and personal coaching with a primary focus on learning interpersonal coaching skills and concepts. Topics will include: specific communication skills of a coach, interpersonal coaching tools, developmental models of change, common coaching issues, the stages and structures of coaching, and solution-focused coaching methods. Class structure will include: demonstrations, experiential practice and learning, and guest lectures from successful coaches (depending on their availability). May be used as a management, industrial / organizational psychology or conflict resolution certificate elective option. This course combines lecture, experiential learning activities and cyber-enhanced learning modalities. It is taught so that students will utilize theory in class activities that illustrate coaching concepts and teach coaching skills. Cross-listed with and equivalent to: PSYCH 361 . Formerly: MGT-396N.
